Steve Bull kicks off the launch of Birmingham's first direct train service to Wembley
England legend and Wolves hero, Steve Bull MBE, has launched Chiltern Railways direct service to Wembley Stadium station from Birmingham.
England fans will be pleased to hear that the direct service, will be available for all the forthcoming England matches and other future stadium events.
Football idol Steve Bull, affectionately known to fans as Bully, was delighted to be launching the service from Moor Street station and comments: ”It’s great news for football fans across the Midlands, travelling to the matches is part of the whole experience and this direct service will ensure that fans can relax and enjoy the journey.”
Naomi Simmons, public relations and communications manager of Chiltern Railways says: "With the new Wembley Stadium now complete we will be strengthening our services for each event to cater for the influx of passengers using our direct service to the station.
“Chiltern Railways will be tailoring their time tables in order to accurately cater for each individual event at Wembley, details will be available via the Chiltern Railways website prior to each event.
“We offer some unbeatable fares for personal and business journeys and our successful ticket by text service to customers will also be offered on journeys to Wembley with discounted rates."
The new 'Txt2mobile' service is available online offering Chiltern’s E-Day £5 tickets from Birmingham to London Marylebone. Passengers will register their details online and receive a text to their mobile to show on the train journey instead of a traditional printed ticket.
