LOCAL FOOTBALL HERO TAKES TO THE SAND ON BULLRING’S BEACH email Steve Bull
To kick start the new football season this Wednesday, Bullring Beach is bending it like Beckham with an afternoon of soccer fun. Local football legend Steve Bull will join Goals Soccer Centre in an interactive coaching session taking place on the sand, culminating in a mini-tournament for the young footballers to demonstrate their newly acquired skills.
Steve Bull, the greatest scorer in the history of Wolverhampton Wanderers football club, smashed no less than four of the club’s records alongside playing for England and earning an MBE for services to Association Football.
On Wednesday, Bull will demonstrate his loyalty and commitment to football in the Midlands as he did throughout his career, by offering his expert guidance to Birmingham’s young, budding footballers.
Starting at midday the transformed beach complete with inflatable nets and plenty of soft balls, will be open to any children that wish to come and experience expert coaching from the Goals Soccer Centre qualified coaches as well as local hero, Steve Bull.
The football icon will be showing off his expertise, teaching tricks and perfecting techniques or posing for photographs with parents who remember him from his days on the pitch.
Louise Hamer-Brown, marketing controller for Bullring, said: “This is a great way for us to continue the summer of activities and provide an afternoon of fun for children visiting the centre. The new football season is just starting so there’s no better time to invite boys and girls to practise their skills. It will be an honour to have a soccer star such as Steve Bull coming to the event and maybe Bullring will help to find Birmingham’s next Damien Johnson”
