It may only be the second game of the season, but I for one am not underestimating the importance of Wolves' home game with Charlton tomorrow.
After last week's disappointment at Blackburn, Dave Jones will be aware how important it is for the team to bounce back tomorrow and I think it is vital we take the three points.
Like all Wolves supporters, I am not kidding myself about how hard this season will be and everyone will be delighted if we can finish in 17th position which would guarantee our survival.
We are in a mini-league with the likes of Fulham, Bolton, Portsmouth, Leicester who just want to survive with the big boys, and I would include Charlton in that list.
Alan Curbishley has done an excellent job over the years, but these are the type of home games we need to take points from if we are going to stop up.
I noticed this week Charlton have signed Carlton Cole on loan for the rest of the season from Chelsea and I am just hoping that yet another ex-player does not come back to haunt us by scoring an important goal. I was quite impressed with Carlton when he was on loan here last season. He is big, dangly and awkward with plenty of pace but I am confident Paul Butler and Jody Craddock will put in strong performances and hopefully keep him quiet.
As we all know, tomorrow will be the first time Molineux has hosted a top flight game for more than 19 years and I am sure the supporters will rise to the occasion. They would have been as disappointed as everybody with the result at Blackburn but they have had a week to pick themselves up and I am sure Molineux will be full of optimism and noise come 3pm tomorrow.
Speaking from experience, I know what a difference the supporters can make and know what a buzz the players from get from hearing their names chanted so you do have a massive part to play.
The one thing I am not getting drawn into this week is making any predictions.
I have taken some stick in my local at the Three Fishes in Newport this week for saying that we would win 2-1 at Blackburn, particularly from the gaffer Derek who is a Wolves fan.
I was so close in the play-off final when I predicted we would win it 3-1 that my confidence was high, but I left Ewood Park last week with my tail firmly between my legs.
My plan for the next few weeks at least is to keep my predictions to myself and hopefully I will be able to go for a peaceful pint!
I could not let this week's column end without a word for Matt Murray. The Big Man has conceded eight goals for Wolves and England under 21s this week and, with the possible exception of Andy Cole's opener last week, he could not have done much about any of them.
Matt is a quality keeper and I am sure it is not long before he is keeping clean sheets for Wolves and maybe the full England team.
