It's been over 12 long years, but the events at Meadow Lane on October 13, 1990 haven't been erased from the memory.
I've never spoken to Neil Warnock and, as far as I'm aware, I haven't caused him any harm. But I'm no fan of his.
Warnock maybe didn't intend any malice in what he said that day, and I've said things myself in the past that I've regretted, only to see the error of my ways and apologised afterwards.
But there was no doubt about his words that sparked trouble.
As I went in for a challenge with a Notts County defender near the home dugout, I heard him say: "Break Bully's f*****g leg". Those were the exact words.
All hell broke loose. Shane Westley was booked for taking Warnock to task and I think our manager Graham Turner had a tussle with him in the tunnel.
I have never had anything to do with Warnock but when you hear comments like that, they stick with you and I've never forgotten.
Elsewhere on this page, Shane has also admitted what he heard Warnock say.
What sort of comment is that? You shouldn't say those sort of things on a football field.
Warnock says he doesn't recall his words that day, but admits he must have said it hundreds of times in his career.
If you say things like that you should remember it, and be aware of the consequences of your actions.
He says he loved me as a player and would have liked to have signed me, but we'll never know and I don't know if I could have worked with him after that.
Warnock's teams are always hard to beat who put themselves about.
One of his current players is Mark Rankine, someone I knew well from our time together at Molineux.
"Ranks" was a bit of a joker who did a job for Wolves. Like me he was in the losing play-off team against Bolton in 1995, which was the worst night of my career.
During his time at Molineux, Rankine was joined at the hip to Darren Ferguson. They used to hang around together and always paired up to room with each other, so it was just as well they played together in the middle of the park.
I haven't spoken to Ranks for a while, but I'm sure he will not bear Wolves any ill will, he just wants to do his job for them.
I wish Mark well. I wish I could the say the same for Warnock. But he urged one of the players to 'break my leg.'
Let me return the compliment. I hope our boys break his heart on Monday afternoon.
